Minecraft

As promised, here is my wonderful fantastic blog on:

Minecraft has been discussed to death (I know, trust me), but it seems like a great first stepping stone into my blog, and what other way to start a blog than with a amazing game that keeps on getting better.

For those of you whom happened to stumble onto this blog before any other review of Minecraft, let me fill you in; Minecraft is, more or less, an architectural game (think lego) with a huge level of creativity and interactivity. The game is currently in Beta, and no story-line has properly been produced yet, but it is widely conceived that you "Wake up" in an unknown land, and it is your job to survive whilst making the most creative things you can think of.
In the day time you gather and explore, and at night you survive against the onslaught of enemies that appear.

In the game, the sky is pretty much the limit, and most things you think of can be made into your world. Water slides, Roller Coasters, Musical Contraptions, Houses, Castles, Secret Passageways, A huge variety of traps, Volcanoes, Lakes, Rivers, Pyramids, the list goes on and on and on.

On your way to making things though, You'll need to gather materials, and to gather materials you'll need tools, and if you want efficient tools, you'll need to start mining. Tools start from wood (It's the only resource you can gather without a tool) and progress through to stone, iron, gold and then diamond. The better quality your tool, the longer usage you will get out of it, and ergo, more efficient resource gathering for your creations.

A snowy, piggy suprise!
Playing the game is simple, everything is made in "Blocks" (The game is a giant 3D Grid), Holding down the left mouse button will break blocks, and pressing the right mouse button will place blocks. You move with the simple WASD movement and jump with the spacebar key. Don't let the simplicity of the controls fool you, the game can become very complex, especially when a monster is on your heel.

Speaking of monsters, The game has a good variety of them at the moment. The current types are Zombies, Spiders, Creepers, Skeletons, Pig Men, and floating giant.. things..
Each monster has a different way of trying to kill you, and while that sounds bad, it adds fun to the game and inspires you to think of more creative ways to defend yourself. For example, Spiders can climb walls, Skeletons can shoot arrows over a long distance, and Creepers explode, destroying everything around them in a medium radius.

Besides monsters there are friendly creatures that will roam the world, Pigs, Chickens, Sheep and Cows, each of them will drop something useful to your survival on slaughter, mainly food and wool though. If you feel like going vegetarian however, you can choose to put a saddle on a pig and ride around on it!

The game is a must have to any gamers collection, And with many many more updates and new things to come, who knows what to expect upon launch!

The world of minecraft!

Hurrah! This is my first post on my gaming blog.

At the time of posting this, it's gotten far to late to really post too much about what I intend to do with this site, but for now, I'll just let you know I'll be giving my personal opinion on games in the form of reviews, videos and other crazy crazy things.

Tomorrow, I'll be posting a big juicy article on the game Minecraft, complete with great little pictures and all that jazz, along with some pictures of a local server I am currently on with my room-mates.

But for all that to happen, I think I'm going to need to get some shut-eye, so see you all tomorrow (Or later on today rather)
